Hi everyone!
We had our monthly PTA meeting last night! Thanks to everyone that was able to attend! For those that couldn’t, here’s the recap:
Membership:
PTA will have a table and participate in Kindergarten round up on March 26th. We’ll have the popcorn machine out and will pass out bags of popcorn to all that visit the table!
Fundraising:
- Raising Canes made $160 last month. We don’t have the numbers back from Culvers quite yet from this month. Next month is Chipotle (that’s our best/most profitable one!) . March 26th is the date for this!
- Spirit wear will also be present at kindergarten round up.
- Book fair will be held in the library on March 11th and March 13th during conferences. A sign up genius went out asking for volunteers to help with it. If you have a little time to give, we would greatly appreciate you signing up! If you didn’t get the link, please let me know and I’d be happy to send it to you!
- Book fair next year: Looking for a volunteer to take charge of the book fair next year! Please let me know if you’re interested in organizing this! It’s not hard!
Upcoming Events:
- STEAM event! PTA is having an all school event on Saturday, March 30 from 2-4:30 p.m. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Tell other families in Warren Hills! We want everyone to come to experience this great event! STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. These are core subjects that are used in our workforce as adults. Children are learning things in these subject that they will need and use throughout life! So far, there are over 20 businesses/groups participating in this event (i.e. Mad Science, the KC Zoo, Bricks for Kids, Robotics team from the high school, etc. etc.) . There also will be a snow cone truck at the event outside for kids to purchase 🙂
- Watch for other fun events coming soon too! There will be a Warren Hills Liberty Gymnastics night coming soon and an Above All Night too! More details to come!
- Trash bag and cookie dough order forms will be coming home soon! This is our big spring fundraiser! Please help promote these items and help sell whichever one you want (or both)! Eileen’s Cookies (local business in Liberty) will be where the cookie dough comes from. They have been quite supportive and are even offering prizes to student as they sell the dough!
- SAVE YOUR DONATION CLOTHING! On the day you pick up your cookie dough and trash bags, we would love you to bring a bag (or 6) of your donation clothing. So start spring cleaning and bag it up and set it to the side until then! We are going to take it to SAVERS for you! Savers will pay us per pound for the donations–so what you’re giving away will make money for your child’s school! A flyer went home last week with more information about this!
PTA Donations:
The next PTA meeting has been changed to WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27th. With Kindergarten round up on March 26th, we pushed the PTA meeting to the next night. 7 p.m. in the library! Please join us–even if you never have before, we’d love you to come!!
Thank you!
-Shannon
